You may wonder what CHOICES looks like with the 6-week Heartbeat Protection law. Women are now under immense pressure to make high-speed decisions immediately. Hearts may be harder, and decisions faster, but don’t ever wonder if you are making a difference and saving lives!

She walked in resolutely. She was confident with her decision to abort her baby. “Dara” had been to the hospital and received an ultrasound. She came to CHOICES for one thing – abortion pills. She assumed she would leave with pills to have an abortion at home.

Dara was shocked and disappointed when she found out she was NOT going to get an abortion at CHOICES. Instead, her nurse educated Dara about what the hospital ultrasound may have indicated about the gestational age of her preborn baby, so she was receptive to having another ultrasound with our medical staff. Her concern was legitimate, and it just so happened that our medical staff had the time and patience to educate her and empower her with the truth.

Our advocate began asking her questions about the baby’s father. At that moment, she opened up about the difficulty in their relationship, and all the walls came down. CHOCIES was a space where she felt safe and heard. Her advocate shared the Gospel, and Dara allowed us to pray for her and give her a Bible.

When the ultrasound revealed a baby at 11 weeks, outside the legal limits of abortion in Florida, Dara was shocked. The nurse asked her if she was considering going out of state for an abortion or carrying her baby. Dara said, “I am having a baby,” and tears of joy poured out.

Not everyone seeking abortion pills finds us, but this is why YOU partner with us – we give our all to make that crucial connection in that moment of desperation. Dara left, thanking and hugging us with a Bible in hand. That “US” includes YOU! Life may look one way when a woman walks through our doors, but we understand it can look very different when she walks out.
