TITLE: Nurse Practitioner
HOURS PER WEEK: Part Time or Full Time, 2 to 4 days per week, to be determined, at all 3 clinic locations

90 days and annually in January
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the leadership of the off-site Medical Director and supervision of the Medical Services Director, The Nurse Practitioner provides professional medical support to patients for prenatal care and pregnancy consultation maintaining standards of care. The Nurse Practitioner will provide patient assessment, consultation, education, medical intervention, and quality care along with record keeping, reading scans and other general medical procedures when needed and time permits.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
• A commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior with a passion and heart to work in LIFE ministry.
• Full agreement with Choices Women’s Clinic Mission and Statement of Faith, Statement of Principle, and policies and procedures of the clinic.
• Board-certified Advanced Practice Nurse holding national certification from a governing board.
• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license and in good standing in the state of FL, 3 years progressive service preferable.
• Training and experience in women’s health, OB/GYN and experience doing limited ultrasound scans.
• Bi-lingual preferred and ability to use a translation service when needed.
• Experience with progressive responsibility levels in diagnosis and treatment.
• Analytical ability to participate in development of policies and procedures, formulate clinic structure and goals, provide medical oversight, and evaluate staff needs and quality of medical services.
• Excellent communication, problem solving and counseling skills
• Passionate about faith and ability to share the Gospel and engage in spiritual conversations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Patient Care
• Patient education for unexpected pregnancy, pregnancy testing and results, limited ultrasound, STI Testing and treatment, first trimester prenatal care, POC testing and Abortion Pill Reversal (APR).
• Provide written orders for the administration of medical services.
• Perform clinic testing, proper collection procedures and review of lab reports per protocol.
• Prescribe medications and administer medication per protocol
• Take medical history and chart accordingly.
• Educate patients about abortion risks and procedures, fetal development, STI/STD, and provide directives on care.
• Provide limited diagnostic ultrasound exams to medical standards of care.
• Read ultrasound scans when needed to assist volunteer reading doctors.
• Follow procedures for timely patient follow-up.
Medical Services Operations and Management
• Review and complete patient files by the end of the day or within 24 hours.
• Maintain relationship and communication with Medical Director and Dr. reading scans with communication and meetings when necessary or scheduled.
• In conjunction with the Medical Director, provide medical staff infection control regulations such as Blood Borne Pathogens, PPE, and pregnancy test training, and STI training.
• Development and implementation of new and relevant medical services working with the Executive Director, Medical Director and Medical Services Director.
• Provides on-call response and consultation for medical staff for patient assessment, questions, or medical emergencies when needed.
• Notify all mandatory disease-reporting agencies as required by law.
Continuing Education
• Comply with state and professional licensing and continuing education requirements.
• Ongoing self-education of current abortion procedures and risks and related pregnancy concerns.
• Education webinars or training as recommended by Executive Director or Medical Director.
• Work with the Medical Director and Medical Services Director when needed to provide ongoing education meetings to further educate the medical team.
Public Relations
• Attend and fully participate in the special events of the ministry: Walk (Spring) and Banquet (Fall).
• Willingness to consider giving and promoting the ministry initiatives for funding the ministry.
