Young or old, it is hard to imagine what it must feel like to be pregnant and alone, faced with the choice of abortion, that our culture says is easy and acceptable. Our stories and our lives fuel our passion for CHOICES, and we are eager to empower women and men to make healthy life decisions. Thank you for allowing your story and your passion to save lives!
“Kendra” had been dating her boyfriend, who did not want children, for three years. She was 32 years old with a seven-year-old daughter from a previous marriage. Kendra was distraught when she missed her period. She took a home test and immediately made an appointment to have an abortion at Planned Parenthood. On the day of her appointment, Kendra was frightened and called to cancel. She then found CHOICES while looking for another clinic nearby. Kendra felt alone and was afraid to share her secret.
Kendra came to CHOICES seeking an abortion, but God had another plan for her life. She explained that she was scared to tell her boyfriend or her family. In fact, her pregnancy triggered various painful memories from a previous abortion she had a decade ago. The truth Kendra heard at CHOICES resonated with her: the truth of the Gospel, the reality of fetal development, the honesty about abortion procedures and risks. And when she saw her 7-week unborn baby on ultrasound, she knew she could only make one decision, which was a decision for life; for herself and her baby.
Kendra allowed us to pray with her, and we could tangibly see the Lord working in her heart and her circumstance. Within a few weeks, she found the courage to tell her boyfriend, who eventually came around. Her family was thrilled, and her daughter was ecstatic. Friends threw her a shower, and very few will ever know Kendra had ever considered the thought of termination once upon a time.
On March 25th, precious baby “Maria” was born into a loving family. This is what you do each day at CHOICES. You sow life; you invest in stories; you believe every appointment is a divine appointment to share the love of Jesus and his hope and truth.
Thank you for being a champion for life. It is for this we press on, running with endurance the race set before us. Thank you for your passion and for loving well so that more “Kendra’s” will choose truth and more “Maria’s” will be born to make this world a better place!
Until there are 0…
